We understand that many clients would like to receive EMDR treatment, however, your counsellor will first assess your situation and determine the most fitting treatment modality for you. Please let us know your key reason for wanting counselling at this time and our office will match you with the suited counsellor.

Congratuations! You’ve taken the most important step by setting first appointment with your counsellor. Come prepared with questions about counselling, your counsellors approach and ideas about what you’d like to gain from counselling at this time. Your counsellor will guide you through the first session and let you know if there is anything else they need from you. In your first appointment you can get a sense of your counsellor and they will be asking you several questions. With this, your counsellor gaining insight into your situation so they design the most effective way to get you to your goals through counselling.

We strongly encourage you check with your employer and/or your insurance provider to understand what coverage your plan offers. They will inform you which credentials your counsellor must have to be covered by your plan and how much they will cover. Once you know about your coverage, you will be able to make the best decision about how to proceed with no surprizes!

We do not provide direct billing however, you can submit your receipts for reimbursment once you confirm your coverage for counselling.

To avoid the cancellation fee, please contact office by email bachcounsellingoffice@gmail.com and let us know 48 hours before your appointment (excluding weekends and holidays) to avoid our cancellation fee. This is the full fee for the counsellors time.

At this time we have removed mandatory masks protocol as per BC Health Guidelines. However, we support personal decision with respect to masks. If you have COVID symptoms, you can notify the office and your appointment will be changed to virtual.

As your appointment time is held specifically for you, we require 48 hours notice excluding weekends and holidays. This helps ensure that the therapists limited time is accessed by our waiting clients. For cancellation within 48 hours the regular fee will apply.

Our rates for 50 minute sessions:
Counselling: $130 – $350 plus GST
Nutritional Counselling: $140 plus GST

We offer counselling to ages 13 years and above.

Many clients prefer virtual cousnelling for it’s convenience. Virtual counselling is highly effective and our counsellors are well versed in the virtual counselling space. Once your appointemnt has been made, an email with the link to the online session will be sent to your email address 30 minute before the appointment.

• If you are doing a couples counselling virtually, please forward the email to your partner prior to your session

Your therapist will answer any questions you may have for them and they will ask you about what you are looking to gain from counselling. They will explore with you the goals you’d like to achieve and explore any symptoms, history and background to assist in your counselling outcomes.

The sessions are 50 minutes unless scheduled for 75 minutes. .

The number of counselling sessions required for your counselling depend on many factors. This will be discussed with your counsellor and may vary from weeks to several months. This will depends on your needs and your goals.

Our counsellors use evidence based therapeutic techniques such as CBT, DBT, Bowen Family Systems, EFT, and EMDR.

We accept credit card payment. Please make sure to call the office 604-904-0898 to add your payment information before your first appointment.

Some of the benefits that you can gain from counselling include improved self-esteem, techniques to change behaviors, increased overall mood and sense of well being including a reduction in depressed mood, anxiety, and other mental health conditions and improved relationships.

Your counsellor will see you together in your first counselling meeting followed by invidual sessions with each party before meeting again together. There the therapist will outline theire perspective on how to proceed in the best interest of your relatoinship.

We do not offer free consultation at this time due to limited availability of our counsellors.

The main difference between therapist and a psychologist is psychologists have two additonal years of post secondary education. Psychisatrists have medical degrees allowing them prescribe medication.

RCC (Registered Clinical Counsellor) is part of a provincial association, the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors, whereas CCC (Canadian Certified Counsellor) is part of a federal association, the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

The Bach Counselling Group follow the BCACC and CCPA ethical and legal guidelines. This means that the information shared during your counselling session is not shared with anyone unless you’ve given us the written consent. However, if the court orders your files, your counsellor is asked by a judge to appear in court or if there is a possibility harm to self and/or to another person, then the therapist is mandated to report such incidents to the appropriate authorities.
