Lucia Chuan, MA Counsellor | Anxiety, Couples & Parenting — North Vancouver
Lucia Chuan is a Counsellor with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology, currently working toward her RCC designation. She works with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, life transitions, identity, postpartum challenges, and the emotional weight of parenthood and immigration.
Lucia brings both professional training and lived experience to her work. As a mother and former early childhood educator, she has a firsthand understanding of family life, cultural adjustment, and the particular pressures that arise when people are managing multiple roles and expectations simultaneously.
Her training in the Gottman Method informs her couples work, helping partners identify negative cycles and build clearer, more connected communication.
Lucia works with:
- Anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm
- Couples: communication, conflict, and connection
- Postpartum adjustment and maternal mental health
- Parenthood and family transitions
- Identity development and perfectionism
- Immigration and cultural adjustment
Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gottman Method principles, mindfulness-based strategies, and emotion-focused work within a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive framework.
Lucia sees clients at BCG’s North Vancouver office and offers online counselling throughout BC.
