Aaron Henry, MA, RCC Registered Clinical Counsellor | Anxiety, Perfectionism, ADHD & Couples Therapy — North & West Vancouver
Aaron Henry is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with doctoral-level academic training in the science of how people think, get stuck, and change. He holds a PhD from the University of Toronto and Bachelor of Philosophy degrees from the University of Oxford and the University of Toronto in philosophy of mind, with a focus on attention and motivation — alongside a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from UBC.
Many of Aaron’s clients are thoughtful and capable, but find themselves caught in patterns of overthinking, self-criticism, or recurring conflict that persist despite genuine effort. Therapy focuses on understanding what drives these patterns beneath the surface, and building more effective ways of responding — both internally and in relationships.
Aaron works with:
- Anxiety and chronic overthinking
- Perfectionism and self-imposed pressure
- Couples: recurring conflict and communication breakdown
- ADHD — focus, motivation, and follow-through
- Disordered eating and self-worth
- Life transitions and identity development
His approach integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy within a trauma-informed framework. In couples work, he incorporates Gottman Method principles to reduce escalation and improve how partners communicate.
Aaron sees clients at BCG’s North Vancouver and West Vancouver offices, and offers online counselling throughout BC.
